A Fitness Series – The One with the Intro
What’s up homies! Welcome back to the blog. This is the beginning of a new 4-part series uncovering the best fitness classes in Tampa. In these posts, I will be trying different gyms in the area and will judge them on the following criteria: value for price-point, schedule flexibility, workout and cleanliness.
Not sure about you guys, but when it comes to my fitness journey, I’m still not 100% sure of what I’m doing. I feel like I know the basics to being overall healthy and fit, but I can still benefit from guidance. I also enjoy being told what to do in a workout and not having to figure things out on my own. With my personality, it’s one of the few areas where I don’t need to be in control so while I’m working out my bodily muscles, I’m giving the big one in my head a break!
This is where fitness classes come into play and luckily for me it’s 2019 and fitness trends are still on the uprise. This means loads of variety!! I wanted to give myself a well rounded experience so for the series, I’ll be checking out the following types of workouts: cycling/spin, kickboxing, and HIIT. Cycling/Spin is a classic type of class, our moms and aunts were doing these since back in the day. The Tried & True method, if you will. Kickboxing to me is a hybrid type of class; part HIIT, part boxing and overall a full body workout. And finally HIIT (high intensity interval training); these type of workouts are meant to burn a ton of calories by bringing your heart rate in and out of the fat burning zone. The classes can focus on upper-body, lower-body or full body.
My wedding is less than 2 months away so I’m going to have to kick it into high gear if I want to achieve my goals by then. I’ll be reviewing each class and giving my honest feedback. There will be links so you can check these gyms out for yourself as well. Everyone’s fitness journey is completely different and what works for me may not work for others. The main point of this series is to educate and provide insight on what to expect from the perspective of an actual person and not through their marketing efforts. It’s my hope that you will find inspiration to maybe give these places a try or to give that class in your town a go! Remember everything at your own pace. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Part one of this series will be out Friday, so don’t miss out!
As always catch me on the gram @SteffyMarrs, subscribe to the blog (to the right) and share this dope-ness with others! Catch you guys soon!
